Juniper Tree Care Guide

Plant Care Guide

Juniper Tree

Botanical Name: Juniperus,  joo· ni· pr· uhs

Common Names: Juniper Tree

Junipers have evergreen, needle-like foliage, and a naturally compact growth habit, making them well-suited to bonsai growing techniques. Junipers tend to have a natural downward growth habit, making them great as a cascading kokedama.

Light Requirements

Bright, indirect light is ideal. Look for a sunny spot or somewhere that gets 4-5 hours of light a day.

Water Requirements

Enjoys a deep watering once the soil has mostly (or completely) dried out. Tip: It is always better to underwater than to overwater.

Troubleshooting and Tips

If the Juniper leaves start to turn yellow it is most likely a sign of being overwatered. It could also be a sign that the plant is too dry.

If the Juniper leaves start to turn brown it is most likely a sign that it is being under watered. A good way to check this is by examining the trunk and seeing if it appears wilted or shriveled. Brown leaves could also be a sign that the plant is overwatered.
